Growing up in the Netherlands, biking was an everyday activity for me. But it was not until moving to California and participating in a 2001 Team in Training charity event that my love for biking really started. After 4 years of racing in the NCNCA, I wanted to share my experience in helping the next generation of cyclists to meet their goals. I am a USAC Level 3 certified coach and specialize in helping the time-crunched cyclist accomplish their goals. This can be training for charity rides or a Granfondo, staying competitive in your local group rides, or just achieving your health goals. I have seen too many cyclists hang up their bike when life gets busy with family activities and young kids, but I have and still am able to ride 4000 - 5000 miles per year and balance it all. The key is to follow a structured annual training plan and use high intensity workouts to get the most out of your available time. I use a combination of virtual riding (on a smart trainer) and outdoor riding, utilizing Trainingpeaks to plan your workout schedule which is based on power and/or heart rate data.
