I am a business professor of Organizational Behavior, and Leadership at Trine University, and the Head Triathlon Coach. I focus on Coaching Collegiate athletes as well as Age Group athletes in triathlon and endurance sports.
My research interests involve leadership behavior and performance.
Danny Powell is an Assistant Professor in the Ketner School of Business. Dr. Powell has taught Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Sport Psychology at Trine University for the past five years.
Dr. Powell’s research and publications have focused on leadership behavior and organizational performance. Powell has paid special attention to satisfaction and financial performance in professional organizations, and improvement in sport organizations.
Dr. Powell is a recognized endurance coach in the sport of triathlon, and has led his teams to multiple national championships.
Dr. Powell has consulted with professional organizations, sports teams, athletes, and professionals throughout the United States about leadership development, team work, and performance over the past 12 years.
Prior to teaching, Dr. Powell spent 25 years in the banking and investment industry in roles that included sales, operations, management, and leadership.
Dr. Powell has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and MBA from Indiana Wesleyan, and M.A. in Advanced Leadership Theory from Indiana Wesleyan University, and an Ed.D. in Leadership from Oakland City University.
