As a coach, I emphasize the utilization of all the tools available to maximize potential and experience. We focus on the entire plan, from program design, biomechanical efficiency, metabolic efficiency, physiological optimization and motivation.

In addition to coaching individual athletes, I have directed some of the most elite triathlon camps in the world and created and directed Coaching Certification programs with the intent to help build a better community of coaches in our sport.

Bio

At an early age I was fortunate to have coaches that exposed me to the importance of proper fundamental technique, nutrition, psychology, and grit. My athletic career began as a golfer and hockey player. The unlikely combination of these to divergent sports nourished a desire to utilize all the tools available to become a better athlete and person. After pursuing my goals to their likely limits in the Junior PGA and the USHL, I had a dream of becoming a professional Triathlete. So, after my first two triathlons in 1992, I moved to SoCal and started a new chapter.

I have been passionately involved with Triathlon since those early years and I have had the amazing opportunity to train with Olympians and World Champions. I have been fortunate to observe and work alongside the Coaches to numerous Elites, Olympians and World Champions (ITU and Kona). These experiences not only add fuel to my motivation as a coach, but they have also provided an amazing library of information I share with my athletes.

As a coach, my success is often results driven, but I believe the most important aspect of the result is the journey. I have worked with dozens of athletes across a very broad spectrum. For some it was simply completing a first triathlon or simply getting their face in the water for the first time. At the other end of that spectrum, I have helped Age Group athletes qualify for Kona and Worlds for the first time and even helped a few win National and World titles.
