I started riding and racing bikes as a teenager and worked in a local bike shop through high school and college which let me build a strong knowledge base of bicycle maintenance and repair, as well as, learning the different types of cyclist out there. My training and racing varied through the years until I hit the Masters level. From that point on, I have maintained a consistent and efficient power based training volume that lets me compete in the Elite Masters category for Cyclocross races in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Off season fun includes gravel, crit and road races, MTB events and the occasional triathlon.

My biggest goal as a coach is to provide each athlete with the appropriate training guidance that meets their needs. A coach can take your goals, time constraints, etc., build a custom plan. This allows you the athlete to focus on what is important which is moving your legs to hammer out each workout and build strength and stamina day after day. Don’t worry about following each workout blindly! Discussions on “why” will be included along the way to build your own training knowledge.

My biggest training philosophy is efficient and consistent training. The time we spend on our bikes and training is critical to meet our goals. Having a yearlong training plan that is thought out, and has you working in all the appropriate power and heart rate training zones, will pay dividends in the long run and steer you away from “junk” miles.
