Hello! And welcome to DashRunning! If you want to optimize your running, you are in the right place! My approach towards coaching is to ensure you can run on your schedule. Steeped in the latest research, your workouts will make your runs more efficient and allow you to meet your goals.
I used to hate running. My friend Jeff told me I should join cross country our Junior year in high school, and I was terrible. Like, I got the most improved Freshman that year bad. But as I kept plugging away….something happened. I started to like running. Like, it relaxed me to run.
I soon trained for my first marathon. And I had to bail after 18 miles. When you decide to run a marathon, picking your first one in Sunriver (4,000 feet elevation) in August isn’t the most excellent idea. A week later, I ran 26 miles in Forest Park to prove I could do it, and in October of 2021, I ran my first 50K. But my proudest moment wasn’t any of these races; it was the first half marathon my sisters ran with me.
They hadn’t trained for anything before that race, but they both trained their butts off and finished. And THAT’S where my desire to coach comes from. What are your goals? Where do you hope to be after training? No matter your skill level, if you have plans, I want to help you achieve them, teach you a little about running, and make sure you can stay active as long as you want.
