Dan Daly, CSCS, is a performance coach and lifelong swimmer who helps athletes train smarter and swim stronger. With over 20 years of experience in strength and conditioning—and more than 35 as a competitive swimmer—Dan specializes in dryland training and technique development for swimmers of all ages and levels, from beginners to world-class competitors.
Dan began swimming competitively as a child, eventually becoming a high school All-American, Division I scholarship athlete, and Division II All-American and national finalist. He captained the Men’s Varsity Swim Team at West Chester University, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition. Today, he continues to compete in pool and open water races, from 50 meters to 100 kilometers.
As the founder of Train Daly, based in New York City, Dan coaches swimmers worldwide pursuing everything from national cuts and collegiate goals to triathlons, Ironmans, and the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. He frequently works in both the U.S. and Hungary, his wife’s home country and a global swimming hub.
Dan is the author of “Core Training for Swimmers” in the NSCA’s textbook Developing the Core, a former co-creator of Equinox’s EQX H2O swim program, and a multiple-time Personal Trainer of the Year. He also mentors coaches and presents regularly at workshops and seminars, with features in Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Muscle & Fitness.
