I got my start as an athlete at 40 years old. Before then, I “worked out” (primarily walking and Jane Fonda), in conjunction with starvation diets, as a way to drop a few pounds here and there as needed. I had always believed I “couldn’t” be an athlete, as if there were magic genes one needed to possess and I just didn’t have them. At 40 I changed my mind…and my body followed suit. As I moved from the “I can’t” to the “I can” and then to the “I most certainly will and nothing will stand in my way” mindset, I realized being an athlete is less about the body you have, but the work you do with it. I believe anything we desire to do well is more about the process than it is about the end goal. As a coach, I focus on establishing a solid training foundation and build your plan with proven techniques which allow you to have the best race day, life, possible.
