John Wann

I am a British Cycling Level 3 (the highest level) coach for Road & Time Trial and also Level 3 for Track Cycling. I been involved with coaching cycling since 2004 when my daughter was progressing through the British Cycling program. As a result I know the UK Women's road and track racing scene well and specialize in preparing female riders for competition, including UCI Road & Track events, or just regional events and sportives. I am 'DBS checked' and approved for work with junior riders.

I work in the University sector as a Professor of Psychology in a UK University. My first degree was in Sports Science and I have worked in Sports Science Departments at UQ and UWA in Australia. Outside of my professional occupation I coach cycling as a group activity, at Palmer Park Velo youth cycling club in Reading, UK, and I also coach aspiring individual riders as a British Cycling Level 3 coach. There is spill-over from my professional life into my coaching and I teach in the area of Sport Psychology on topics such as optimal arousal and mental preparation for competition. I do not charge directly for my services, but ask riders to set up a standing monthly charitable donation instead of paying a fee. See:
