I am a coach out of Charlotte, NC where I live with my cats, dog, and husband. I have BS in Biology and I am currently working on a series nationally recognized coaching certifications. My background is in competitive swimming and triathlon. I believe you are capable of achieving your athletic dreams with a strong adaptable mindset, consistency, and a stable core. Let me help you develop all three!
I am a collegiate D1 swimmer that jumped into triathlon after college. I really needed something to replace the rigors of collegiate swimming and triathlon was it! Like many, I started off with the local sprint races before I started traveling the country to compete in International and 70.3 races. In 2009, I completed in my first ironman and qualified for Kona. I am a 3-time overalI age group winner at the 70.3 distance and a 3-time national champion (swimming/cycling). After years of amateur racing, I decided to race at the professional level while working full time as a drug chemist. After placing 2nd pro female at Beach to Battleship (aka Ironman North Carolina), I decided to take a little a step back and focus on cycling. I have been the top female at the Assault on Mt Mitchell two years in a row, achieving top ten out of men and women.
While accolades make a great bullet point list, the key take away is I have personally grown from a local amateur to professional triathlete. I have raced all distances and understand the importance of balancing a work/family/goal driven life. I have learned the hard way the key to being is successful athlete is more than numbers on a meter or pace clock. Successful athletes are well rounded both physically and mentally. I like to view my coaching as a holistic approach to preparing you for every obstacle you may come across on your journey, whether it is finishing your finish ironman or not getting dropped on your local group ride.
