A three-time Ironman, Lloyd began coaching a local USMS club in his home town near Tacoma, Washington in the late 1980s. An active Masters swimmer through most of his 20s, Lloyd stepped away from training in his 30s before deciding to enter a few local half-marathon races in 2010. Since then he has completed nine marathons and three Ironman races.

A lifelong swimmer, Lloyd is a member of US Masters Swimming (USMS) and USA Triathlon (USAT). He is a certified USMS Swim Coach, who is passionate about working with triathletes and distance runners.
