I believe any successful endeavor is 95% preparation and I have a simple mantra - "what are you willing to do, once you've done whats required?". Race-days are like any other training day, but with a lot more excitement and nerves! I strive to have athletes prepared for all aspects of that day, but also for the days leading up to it. Injury prevention, race-prep, real-life scenarios, and always remembering to have fun are keys to success.
Coach Daniel started his athletic career running high school track and cross-country. Originally from Chicago, he joined the US Navy after graduation and served 5 years, returning to Chicago after completion of his service. After moving to Houston, he once again picked up his running career, and in 2015 started his triathlon career. Since then he's completed numerous half-marathons, marathons, and triathlons ranging from sprint-distance up to a Full Ironman - IM Louisville 2017. In 2018 he completed 4 70.3 Ironman races, including IM New Orleans and IM Waco on consecutive weekends.
In 2019 he took a break from competition to get his USATriathlon Level I Certification, USACycling Level 3 certification, and focus on education and training principles, and to get married.
2020 welcomes an addition to the coaching family - a new little triathlete will be joining the ranks in May.
2021 plan includes another Full-distance and Half-distance Ironman (IM Texas and IM 70.3 Texas), and helping his athletes achieve their goals.
