I’m Irene, a 36-year-old running coach originally from Spain, now based in beautiful Edinburgh. I started my running journey in 2017 and have since competed in a range of events, from short to long distances (up to 100K), across road and trail, and at various competitive levels. With a PhD in Biomedicine and Neurobiology and an MSc in Sports Science and Medicine, I have a deep understanding of the human body and physiology, enabling me to tailor training programmes to each athlete's needs for success.
Coaching Philosophy
My approach to coaching is all about training smart—maximising an athlete’s potential while minimising injury risk. I focus on building strength and mental resilience, ensuring athletes develop the right mindset for both training and racing. I create varied training plans to support progress at every stage, and I’m always eager to receive feedback, ensuring we work together towards continuous improvement and enjoy the process!
