Coach Bio

My name is JD Odendal and partnering with me is AJ Barkhuizen. We are best friends, endurance athletes, training partners, sports enthusiasts and founders of Club 1%. We offer training plans and coaching for triathletes, duathletes, hybrid athletes, runners, swimmers, cyclists and lifters. We also offer assistance with anything you need to know as an athlete. This includes nutrition, race day nutrition, mental coaching, advice on gear, race day strategy and everything in between.

Coach JD: " Growing up I participated in a variety of sports. I was a national level short distance swimmer and runner. I also participated in team sports up to semi-professional level where I gathered a lot of knowledge about strengthening and conditioning your body for specific goals. I have always loved the physical aspect of sports and this led to my passion for endurance sports. I believe that training has the power to change your life for the better. I believe that having a strong body is the key to having a strong mind. I believe that a strong mind is the key to living your best life.
