My name is Clarice! I am professional triathlete and a triathlon coach for Speed Sherpa. My coaching philosophy largely focuses on lifestyle - something I have learned in my line of work and in personal life. I aim to be a coach that endows confidence in their athlete, but most importantly makes sure the athlete takes the time to enjoy their journey through every stroke, pedal and step they take forward.
I am a Virginia Beach resident, New York transplant. I work as a Recreation Therapist for the US Navy’s Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program to supplement my triathlon hobby. I help individuals with substance use disorders discover leisure opportunities to fulfill their recreation needs. Basically I practice what I preach - finding triathlon has changed my life for the better.
I began my multi-sport journey as a sophomore at Syracuse University when I was looking for a change in my running lifestyle. I raced collegiately on their club team for 3 years and completed my first half-Ironman in 2014 which fostered my love for long course racing. After ankle ligament reconstruction in 2018 I began training consistently and qualified for Kona in 2019. I achieved my dream of racing at Kona and then turned my focus to achieving my pro card which I earned in 2020.
