Bio

Casey Arendt is a former academic scientist who became a USAT certified coach later in life. She has been coaching triathletes at beginner through intermediate levels since 2009 to sprint through Ironman finishes. Casey has been trained by Paul Newsome and Adam Young of Swim Smooth in swim video analysis methods, and recently became a Slow Twitch Certified Triathlon Swim Coach. She is data-focused, requiring training with GPS and recommending cycling (and running) with power. Her coaching philosophy is heavily influenced by Joe Friel and Jim Vance, with Jack Daniels and Matt Fitzgerald also figuring in. She believes that excellent technique, consistent interval training, and proper handling of work/family/training stress lead to success.
