I started my endurance journey swimming competitively with the Minas Tenis Club team in Brazil for more than ten years. When I came to the US for college, I got really into running. From 2008 to 2011, I focused only on running and finished lots of marathons and shorter races quickly qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
After trying my first triathlon in 2011, I quickly got hooked and moved up to the Ironman distance. I did my first full Ironman in Florida in 2012. Then, in 2016, I came 2nd overall among amateur racers at the 70.3 Pan American Championship and earned my Professional triathlon license. For about six years, from 2016 to 2021, I raced professionally.
During that time, I was also the Head Coach of the Boston University Triathlon team. I helped grow and train the team, which had students from all levels, from freshmen to graduate students. From 2014 to 2019, I ran the endurance program for Lifetime Fitness in the Northeast, where we partnered with the Pan-Mass Challenge and I helped develop a training program for their riders.
