Combining my 15 years of experience as an endurance athlete and my education in the science of kinesiology, I understand that every aspect of life impacts an athlete’s overall ability to train, recover and improve. As a coach, I recognized that sport means something different to each person. I work to understand your why, then design and prioritize your training to match your unique goals.
Coaching is much more than putting workouts on a calendar. Being a dedicated coach is about understanding each athlete. It’s important to me to understand not just your training stress but the impact that your work, family life and lifestyle has on you physically, mentally and emotionally. All of these have an effect on your training and it’s my goal to help you find ways to fit your fitness goals into the whole picture of your daily life.
I hold a Bachelors of Kinesiology from Kansas State University and have been professionally coaching full time since 2006. I have lived, raced and trained across the U.S. I’ve tested my fitness in all kinds of endurance events events from 5k to Half Marathon, duathlons and pedaled nearly all distances on two wheels (road, criterium, cyclocross, gravel, MTB and Ultra Cycling Events including R.A.A.M.)
I was born in Kansas, spent some time in Colorado and now reside in the panhandle of Florida with my wife and two children. At this stage in my life, my goals are to stave off that dad bod, maintain a solid level of fitness, have fun grinding some gravel roads on my bike and hop in on events that not only excite me but will challenge me.
I’m the owner and head coach at Science of Speed, as well as the owner and creator of Bike Fit Box. I love helping people perfect their position on their bike via bike fit as well as helping my team of coaches continually improve their services for our athletes.
