With a degree in biochemistry from Boston College, I approache endurance coaching with a scientific mind. Personal experiences have also left me with a uniquely authentic appreciation for and understanding of the power of the human body and spirit.
In 2003, I was diagnosed with late-stage head and neck cancer and underwent aggressive treatment as part of a clinical trial. I beat the disease and, as part of the healing process, sought a space where I could regain control of my physical self. I found that space in the world of endurance sport. I signed up for an Olympic-distance triathlon to celebrate being one year past cancer treatments. Upon crossing the finish line, I thought, “I will do better next time.” Put simply: I was hooked.
I dove headfirst into endurance sport as both an athlete and coach and over the last 16 years have founded several community-based multisport coaching clubs, trained more than 1,000 athletes, and completed more than 100 endurance events (Boston Marathon, full Ironman events, Ironman 70.3 World Championships). My clients have ranged from first time sprint triathletes to podium finishers and World Championship qualifiers.
I offer integrated training plans focusing on sport-specific physiological development, as well as the relationship between the mind and body, for peak performance everyday, not just on race days. I work to integrate the journey in endurance sport with the rest of life in a way that levels up the experience across the board.
