Situated in Ottawa, Canada, Big Five Triathlon offers a fun, family-oriented approach using small group training and online coached programs including distance coaching. Big Five's approach tends to work best for the busy executive, the come-back athlete, and those who want to stay away from the big box approach to triathlon training.
Coach Michael Sims
As an advocate of 'fit for life' and a believer in families who play together, stay together, Coach Mike likes to practice what he preaches. He believes coaches need to be role models so he is out there training with his athletes. He believes with the proper dose of determination, organizational skills, and hard work, anybody can finish their race at goal time without leaving their family behind! As a coach and athlete, he realizes that most athletes start with the will power but then need to learn the tricks of the trade to be more efficient in order to balance training, work responsibilities, and family commitments.

Although I would like to have athletes with at least an HR monitor, we can work around it. Ideally the athlete also has some background in endurance or exercise programs in the past year.
