After running Track and Cross Country in college, Coach Sarah began her coaching career in working in high schools and becoming a competitive triathlete. After a back injury limited her running, she turned to road cycling, clawing her way in her 40s through the amateur ranks, to earn her Cat 2 License. She has competed in National Events in Triathlon, Duathlon, Cyclocross and Road Racing. She has also competed in the Race Across America as part of an 8 person team completing the ride with her teammates in just under 6 days to tie for 3rd. She is still competing in Cyclocross and is consistently on the podium in local events.
Coach Sarah has had a lot of coaching help herself along the way and she knows the value of having a coach who is focused on your success. Coach Sarah believes that you don’t need to “train like a pro” to be successful, but you do need to focus like one. This means targeting the specific demands of your events, understanding the limitations of your time, and creating workouts that are specific and personal to you.
In 2013 Coach Sarah Founded Betera Coaching in Davidson NC, running 20 group Indoor Cycling Coaching, and coaching one on one strength training and bike skill sessions. She is currently coaching online and offering bike guiding services, and road/gravel camps in New Hampshire and Colorado.
