Triathlon has been a big passion of mine since competing in my first race in honour of a late army colleague back in 2011. Prior to coaching professionally, I was an Army Infantry Officer with the Singapore Armed Forces with 13 years of service and a passion for serving, coaching and leading others. I swam competitively through my junior and army years and have completed multiple IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN distance races.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer by the National Council of Strength & Fitness (NCSF), Certified Tactical Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) and a Certified Coach under Triathlon Singapore and Singapore Swimming Association. I founded Elevate Performance Coaching, a Singapore-based endurance coaching business a few years ago and my athletes range from first-time sprint triathletes to podium finishers and World Championship qualifiers. https://www.elevateperformancecoaching.com/
I am also very passionate about giving back to the local sporting community where I contribute as Master Coach of the Garmin Singapore Running Club and Head Trainer and Guide of RunningHour Singapore, an inclusive club aimed at integrating people with special needs (PWSN) through running. My coaching philosophy is a collaborative one. I enjoy working closely with my athletes to develop customized training plans that are aligned to their needs, goals, capabilities, abilities and sporting experience. I believe it is important to look at each athlete holistically so that triathlon is integrated into their life in a balanced way.
I have had great successes coaching a wide spectrum of athletes, including IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship and IRONMAN Kona World Championship qualifiers, National Para-Swimmers, and special needs triathletes.
