My career as a runner started on the track during my college years as a medical student. From there it was a natural progression to road running: from 5K to marathon distance. My first foray into trail running was in 2008, and have since competed in ultra-distance trail and skyrunning races throughout Europe and Australasia.

  • Lithuanian Olympic team medical officer; London Olympics 2012
  • Currently working with Team New Zealand (sailing) as performance physiologist
  • PhD Candidate in Exercise Physiology (research area: enhance endurance exercise performance via nutritional strategies) at AUT University (NZ)
  • MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine
  • Qualified sports medicine physician
