As a PhD candidate in endurance exercise physiology, performance and nutrition, I endeavour to use evidence based approaches based upon the most recent and relevant scientific literature.
Alongside my academic background, I am also an endurance sport enthusiast having competed in many cycling events from cycling road racing, time trialling (10mile to 12 hours) and MTB marathon events. Future events include ironman and ultrarunning events.
As part of my PhD studies I have been fortunate enough to divide my time between the UK (at Liverpool John Moores University) and France at the National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance (INSEP; Institut national du sport, de l'expertise et de la performance). This arrangement has also allowed me to develop as a researcher (in the UK) and be exposed to a high performance elite sport environment (in France) developing a niche as an applied research practitioner.
As an Exercise physiologist the services I offer should be considered more "Sport science support" for endurance sports. As part of this I will provide individualised training and nutritional programmes that are programmed manually by myself. Therefore all Athletes with whom I work should be comfortable with following a data driven approach. The more data that is available to myself as a coach, the better understanding of your training and subsequent responses to exercise. This will allow for optimal planning of training, nutrition and recovery.
Due to the in depth approach taken with all athlete, coaching places are limited and assigned based on athlete ability to "buy in" to the process. Do not hesitate to contact me for further information and to discuss possibilities for sport science support.
