I grew up surrounded by sports and good coaches. I began my coaching career when I was 13, coaching youth swim, gymnastics and soccer. In 2015, I started coaching triathlon bringing together my two passions: coaching and racing. I focus more on the recreational side of sport and I enjoy coaching both youth and adult athletes. I offer one-on-one coaching for all distances of triathlon and running.
I believe there is a difference in coaching elite vs recreational athletes. Not everyone has the time or ability to be an elite athlete, so training and coaching styles need to reflect the differences between these types of athletes. I like working with athletes who are looking to complete their first 70.3 or IRONMAN and recreational athletes who are looking to beat their personal bests but not necessarily qualify for a world championship. Each athlete is an individual with different needs in terms of training and time commitment and I do my best to work within the framework that an athlete gives me. I believe that athletes need a plan in order to be successful and that mental training is just as important as physical training.
