As I’ve done periodically, I thought an update on WKO4’s progress was warranted. For those of you that don’t know, WKO is our traditional desktop analysis software that we created back in 2003. It has become the gold-standard tool for analyzing power meter data, works offline, and works in conjunction with TrainingPeaks.com. WKO4 is a completely new version, rewritten from the ground-up and is built to take data analysis to a new level, beyond what’s ever been done before.

Back in June I mentioned that WKO4 would be out by the end of the year. However, to all of our mutual disappointment, it’s not going to happen. The driving force behind this decision is simply that we are unwilling to compromise on user experience, features and quality, and that means we have to be flexible on delivery date.

I asked Hunter Allen to create a short preview video to demonstrate a few of WKO4’s features. Hunter is one of the creators of the original WKO software, co-author of Training and Racing With a Power Meter, and is leading the way again for WKO4.

Innovation is hard and software is complex. We are very determined to build you a great product, and I deeply believe we’ve assembled the only team in the world that could deliver on what we’re trying to accomplish. I simply can’t provide a launch date, because we’re going to work on it until it’s ready. I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Best,
Gear
