If you are a Garmin and TrainingPeaks user you probably rely heavily on the Garmin Connect to TrainingPeaks Autosync for completed workouts. If you also use a Garmin scale or manually track your body composition data in Garmin Connect, then you know that it is not as easy to keep that data updated in TrainingPeaks — at least until now.
Garmin and TrainingPeaks have imrpoved their integration to make it even easier to keep more of your data in sync between Garmin Connect and your TrainingPeaks account.
How
Syncing your Garmin Connect body composition data to TrainingPeaks is easy. Sign into your TrainingPeaks account and give permission to TrainingPeaks to access your Garmin Connect Health data here.
Syncing Garmin Connect Health data and completed workouts through Garmin require separate services so you will need to authorize the body composition sync even if you already used the activity Autosync. This also lets you control the type of data that syncs to TrainingPeaks. You can change your activity and body composition sync settings anytime.
Once you have finished the setup, body composition entries will sync the next time you record them. Previous entries and historical data will not sync to TrainingPeaks.
This new integration is limited to body composition data for
What
If you are using a Garmin Index scale, the following metrics will sync to TrainingPeaks:
- Weight
- Percent Fat
- Muscle Mass
- Water Percent
- BMI (you will need to have your height entered in your Garmin Connect profile)
Even if you aren’t using a Garmin Index scale, the Garmin Health sync may save you time and effort. You will be able to manually enter your weight in Garmin Connect and automatically sync to TrainingPeaks so you no longer have to manually enter it in both platforms. No other manually entered values will sync at this time.
Whether you are already tracking body composition data in Garmin Connect and manually entering it in TrainingPeaks or just looking for an easier way to keep your data up to date, these enhancements to the Garmin Connect and TrainingPeaks integration should make managing your data even easier.
