Data Transfer Process from Desktop Companion to your online account

Transferring data between the desktop companion application and the web is fast and easy. Screenshots and an explanation of the process follow below

  1. Bring up the Data Transfer dialog box by pressing Ctrl-T or from the menu "File -> Data Transfer"

Send all workout library changes to website
If you add new workouts or edit a workout in the library using the Desktop Companion, click the first checkbox to upload the new workouts to the website so you can use them on the web or with the Desktop Companion.

Send data for all athletes and plans to website
This section either lets you select to SEND all changes and data at once to the website, or you can individually send data for finer control over the sending process. Note that any athlete or plan that has been changed will have an asterisk (*) next to their name. This is also noted in the status bar at the bottom of the dialog.

It is important to note that the app does not perform a typical "synchronization" of data, but rather lets you control what data is sent and what data is downloaded from the website.

Download all data from website for all athletes and plans.
This checkbox lets you "download" or "pull" data from the website to the Desktop Companion. This feature lets you refresh all your data to reflect any recent changes or additions that clients may have entered from the website. Note that if you have not "uploaded" or "sent" ALL your data before performing this function, your data on the Desktop Companion will be overwritten. You should be sure that you have sent any changes to the website that you would like to have your athletes see before performing this task.

  2. Press "OK" to send data to the website

The Desktop Companion begins the process of sending any changes to the website.

    Saves results on the web

Notifies you when the process is complete.

NOTE: The data transfer process has been highly optimized to work even on very slow phone-modem connections.

If you get a "timed out" message, retry the process immediately. Most of the time it will send data without a problem after detecting a time-out.
