The novice half iron triathlon training plan is designed for the intermediate to advanced triathlete who wants to complete their first half iron distance triathlon, as well as for more seasoned athletes looking for a way to maintain fitness and/or improve their race skills in the half iron distance event.Before starting a triathlon training program, it is important to have a basic foundation of fitness. Most healthy, injury free individuals can safely train and complete a triathlon; however, it is recommended that all individuals receive clearance from their physician before starting any exercise program. This plan is designed to help the first time triathlete complete their first event. The training recommendations are for someone who has minimal time to devote to triathlon training. This plan assumes your are currently active three to six times per week. The specific activity you are doing is not important, rather that you are doing something. If you are not currently active, but you decide to use this plan to get into shape, make sure to consult a Physician before beginning. The goal will be to go from the current state of little activity to completing your first triathlon! Go TriChic Go!
